In 2021, we started receiving racing pigeons from late summer through fall, intending to hold races during the winter. However, due to unfavorable weather, the pigeons didn’t get enough loft flying time, so the races were postponed and eventually held in March 2022.

Initially, I planned to hold two One Loft Races annually—one in the summer and one in the winter—using pigeons around 4–5 months old. I believed these two races would be feasible, but the increasingly severe impacts of climate change have made this goal much harder to achieve. In summer, prolonged monsoon rains lasting nearly a month, and in winter, extreme cold paired with strong winds, have created difficult conditions for hosting races. Unfortunately, I think this is the reality we’re all facing now.

The first Daecheon race encountered technical issues, which led to the return times of many pigeons not being recorded. As a result, we asked for the participants' understanding and decided to void the results. Our primary goal is not about small financial gains but about identifying exceptional pigeons. I deeply appreciate that all participants share this same perspective, and as the organizer, I’m truly grateful for their support.
